As I'm getting older, and wiser, I've realized that I've been loving to play dress-up and go out lately. There's something about putting a nice outfit together that brings me so much joy. I caught myself window shopping during Black Friday and decided I needed a closet reset. Here are the conclusions I've come to since revamping my style.

Plain sweaters:

  1. Grey

  2. Black

  3. White

  4. Beige

I'm a sucker for neutral colors. Those listed are the only colors that matter. The more neutral you go, the classier you'll look. I feel as though a light beige or grey pairs well with any aesthetic. And no, it's not too boring of colors.

Leather Jackets or Blazers:

It's giving businesswoman. I love a good jacket that screams business casual. An oversized leather jacket on top of a baby tee or sweater is *chef's kiss*.

Shoulder Bags:

There's nothing I love more in a fit than the infamous shoulder bag. Running quick errands or going out doesn't require a Mary Poppins bag. That's where a shoulder bag comes in handy. The best way to get your purse to stand out is by investing in a bag with a pop of color like a bright red or a cloudy white.

Hair Clip:

If you have crazy hair like me, you'd understand the power a hair clip holds. Something to take up necessary space in your purse, the hair clip is a curly-haired girl's best friend. It's perfect for styling, pulling back, or combing through.

Flat Shoes:

Similar to the shoulder bag, your outfit will look best with a pop of color in the shoes. Be sure to wear no-show socks or bring band-aids just in case of blisters.

Heeled Boots:

If you've been feeling extra spicy lately, a heeled boot is your new go-to. Heeled boots are well worth the pain and blisters, having your appearance scream "that bitch". These boots would pair best with bell-bottomed or any flared kind of pants.

Baggy Jeans:

Skinny jeans are my enemy, she hates me. I like my jeans to feel like sweatpants. I want to know if I can easily fall asleep in them and still be comfortable. Lately, I've been loving a flared bell-bottom jean. Also, you'll need different wash pairs and preferably no rips or holes. I'm starting to question whether or not ripped jeans should no longer be in style during the winter months. What do you think?

I'm not saying you need to buy all these clothing pieces in one shopping spree. Building a wardrobe takes time and finding the right deals and brands makes all the difference in the world. We're aiming for a minimalistic, clean-girl, timeless fashion statement.
